Jurassic World Summer 2020 Sets

The first box art images for the upcoming wave of Jurassic World summer 2020 sets are surfacing. As usual, the European retailers have them first. Incidentally, we expect four new kits this summer. Additionally, the sets feature a few familiar dinosaurs, but also several new ones. Being a huge Jurassic World fan, I am giddy over this announcement!

75939 – Dr. Wu’s Laboratory

75939 – Dr. Wu’s Laboratory

Dr. Wu’s Laboratory holds a few interesting features. Firstly, there are two new baby dinosaur figurines. The set has a triceratops and an ankylosaurus. Second, I am interested to find out what the display on the laptop shows. Third, next to the laptop, it looks like there is a new piece of amber. Finally, I am happy to see an incubator in the corner similar to the one from the original movie.

75940 – Gallimimus and Pteranodon Breakout

75940 – Gallimimus and Pteranodon Breakout

Another classic dinosaur from the original Jurassic Park film debuts in this set. However, rather than including another Pteranodon, I wish this kit included more than one gallimimus. After all, they are herd animals. Interestingly, the vehicle in this set resembles a smaller version of the T. rex Tracker from a few years back. Or perhaps the more recent App-Controlled Batmobile.

75941 – Indominus Rex VS Ankylosaurus

75941 – Indominus Rex VS Ankylosaurus

This is my favorite from the upcoming wave. I like the look of the little gyrosphere building. Additionally, this set comes with an adult ankylosaurus, which is new. Finally, the Indominus rex returns. It is hard to tell how similar this variant is to the original. However, the color is different based on the box art. Also, the hands are a new shape.

75942 – Velociraptor Plane Chase

75942 – Velociraptor Plane Chase

Velociraptor Plane Chase is not the actual name of this set. If you look closely at the box, the text says something different. However, the color of the packaging makes the actual name hard to make out. A clearer picture in the near future will clear that up. This set contain a new color variant of the raptor figurine that looks like a cross between the LEGO® Movie 2 version and the Delta figurine from the first wave of Jurassic World sets.

This is an interesting assortment. The scenes depicted were plucked from various points in the Jurassic World timeline. 75942 contains a Minifigure from the miniseries Jurassic World: The Legend of Isla Nublar. Meanwhile, 75939 and 75941 contain Minifigures from the first Jurassic World film. Finally, Owen and Claire appear in their Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom attire in 75940. Many of these sets make my wish list just for the new dinosaurs. How about you? Share your thoughts below or on social media.

Until next time,

-Tom
