Earlier this week, I reported on the upcoming City and Creator 3-in-1 sets. Today, some early images of the Ninjago summer 2020 sets started to surface at online European toy retailers. This does not appear to be the full selection though. Earlier in the year, a list of sets circulated after the Nuremburg Toy Fair. The sets that appeared today are less than half of what was on that original list. All the same, here’s a look at some of the forthcoming sets.
71703 – Storm Fighter Battle

This set is geared for younger builders. It features Kai, Jay, and a Serpentine warrior. As part of the Legacy line, it appears reminiscent of season one. Not much in the set speaks to me as an AFOL.
71705 – Destiny’s Bounty

Of the current Ninjago summer 2020 sets, this one speaks to me the most. I am eager to get more pictures of it in the coming days and weeks. Based on this image alone, I do not like it as much as the Ninjago Movie variant. However, it still interests me. I look forward to seeing more detail.
71717 – Journey to the Skull Dungeons

A lot is going on this set, however there is not much to say about it yet. I think the scene depicted is from season 13, which has yet to air. Therefore, not too many people will know exactly what is going on here. This will probably not make my wish list since I am more a fan of the large ships and buildings from the Ninjago line.
71720 – Fire Stone Mech

Fire Stone Mech is another season 13 addition as far as I know. It looks neat, however the mechs rarely make my wish list. So far, Destiny’s Bounty remains my main interest from this wave of announcements. What do you think? Leave a comment below or send a message through social media.
Until next time,
-Tom

Yeah, it’s all over YouTube, it’s some kind of board game. The sets all combine to make it, or something. I’m not completely sure.
These look amazing! I really like these new minifigs. And the box art is just, MWAH!
I agree, the Minifigs look great. Ninjago always has great Minifigs 🙂. I have heard since writing this article that there is supposed to be some kind of game-play associated with these sets…
