Hidden Side Summer 2020 Sets

The news about upcoming sets keeps coming. This time we have a Hidden Side summer 2020 update. Five new sets are coming, and below you can get your first look. Similar to other recent posts about new sets, this one comes from European toy retailers.

70433 – J.B.’s Submarine

This is an interesting set reveal. Submarines are an integral part of the City theme this summer. The inclusion of one in Hidden Side promotes cross-theme play. Additionally, the haunted shark is a neat inclusion. However, it is odd that the kit is called “J.B’s Submarine” when J.B. does not appear to be included in the kit.

70434 – Supernatural Race Car

This set hold little to no appeal for me personally. I feel the LEGO® Group produced too many vehicles and not enough buildings. Additionally, I don’t see anything particularly interesting about this set or build. The Minifigures don’t seem overly unique either.

70435 – Newbury Abandoned Prison

From the look of this set, it is just a facade. Again, I don’t see much that appeals to me as an adult collector. I wish there was more substance to this build. Four Minifigures come with it from the looks of it, as well as a chihuahua.

70436 – Ghost Fire Truck 3000

Sadly, this is another set with little actual appeal for me. I don’t need a modified fire truck. Interestingly, there appears to be a large, brick-built ghoul with a Minifigure head in this kit.

70437 – Castle of Mystery

Of all the sets in this Hidden Side assortment, the Castle of Mystery is the most intriguing. It offers something that we have not seen before in this theme, unlike the plethora of vehicles. Consequently, I look forward to seeing more details from this particular set. However, overall these sets do not impress me much. What do you think of these Hidden Side summer 2020 sets? Until next time,
