Millennium Falcon Day 7 Build Journal

Millennium Falcon Day 7 (Build Journal)

Millennium Falcon day 7 turned out to be a big one. I had a little extra time, so I did not stop at one bag. I assembled three bag sets today. It took me three hours and nine minutes. Consequently, my total build time now sits at 12 hours and 43 minutes. Additionally, the set is a little more than half finished at this point.

Underside paneling from Millennium Falcon Day 7.

Bags seven and eight focus on paneling the underside of the ship. Building the panels themselves is not an issue. However, attaching them under the Millennium Falcon is difficult at times. You cannot really see what you are doing as you fumble along the underside of the ship. You almost need someone to lift the ship up for you so you can place the panels underneath. Additionally, most of them attach using a couple of Technic pins or rods. They do not fall off, but they shift in place when you touch them. It will make lifting this beast nerve wracking since it feels like something is about to fall off. The seventh bag set took me 49 minutes to build, while the eighth was an hour and two minutes.

There is not much to say about the ninth bag set. You build the top of each twin nose section. That took me an hour and 18 minutes. There is a lot of greebling work that looks great, particularly in the exhaust ports. The front section of the ship is complete at this point. Stay tuned for more progress in my next build journal entry. In the meantime, you can watch my Millennium Falcon Day 5 time lapse below. I changed the camera angles up a little to try an catch more of what is going on.

Until next time,

-Tom
