Dear Readers,

This past March, True North Bricks turned 10 years old. It has been a wild ride since that first post on March 20, 2016. We’ve covered weekly Canadian LEGO deals, news, set reviews, events, and everything else pertaining to the Canadian LEGO scene. True North Bricks spent years as Recognized LEGO Fan Media, giving you an inside ear into the LEGO Group as well. I also opened my own online LEGO shop last fall.

However, unknown to me when that shop opened, life was going to throw me a major curveball that I never saw coming. With my life upended, I’ve had no choice but to reevaluate everything. I’ve endured nothing short of a complete reboot in my personal life. You’ve probably noticed that new content stopped here on the blog last February. Unfortunately, after taking the time to carefully consider all my options, I have decided that the clock has run out for True North Bricks.

It is a sad thought for me. I have given a decade of my life to this project. But it is intricately tied to that decade’s memories, and they are memories I must let go. I will not be giving up LEGO as a hobby, and my social media channels may offer glimpses of my projects from time to time. But otherwise, this is it… the end of the blog. It will remain online until the end of July 2026, and then comes the end of an era.

I want to thank you all for joining the True North Bricks community and sharing this journey with me. I’ve loved the comments, the back-and-forths, and especially meeting many of you on the Canadian LEGO convention scene.

Until we meet again,

-Tom

  1. Tom, I really appreciated your weekly deals updates that saved me so much time as I shopped online for my children over the past ten years. Your site was my first stop for a reliable list of deals all in one handy place (so practical). In fact, I came across your site closure post as I was searching for the latest list, to get a new Lego set for my kiddos as the school year ends!
All the best in your future endeavours.
Thank you for your dedication these past ten years!

  2. I’m deeply saddened to hear that you are leaving. Your content was always good and thank you so much for your dedication and excellent work!

  3. I also came across your site looking for Canadian content and deals. I came back regularly for the reviews and creative content. I was even star-struck when you showed up at an Ottawa lego event a couple of years back. Sorry to see the site close, but happy to know you are taking care of yourself and planning to keep building. Your creations are awesome – hope you never lose that playful creativity.

    1. Thank you for your kind words! I don’t think anyone has ever been star-struck to meet me before 😂. We may see each other at future events, friend. Until then!

  4. Thanks for your dedication. I found your website when I was looking for LEGO deals and came across a few of your reviews as well. It was always appreciated.

  5. Thank you for all the amazing content that you’ve given us over the years. It will definitely be missed. I’m looking forward to what you decide to do next. I’m sure we will have some more conversations about it soon. Much love my friend,
