More Stuff for July 2020

Last week I shared my Jurassic July Haul. I decided to treat myself to a few older sets on my wish list since some were on sale. Subsequently, the LEGO® Store re-opened in my area after the COVID-19 lockdown. I decided to go have a look since a reader informed me there were some deals. Of course, one does not simple walk into the LEGO® Store. Consequently, I have more stuff for July 2020 to share. Additionally, I came home to an amazing surprise from the LEGO® Ambassador Network…

Some sets were on sale in store. Additionally, the LEGO® Store marked them down with savings in the 20-30% off range. That is a better deal than we have seen in a while on sets. Keep in mind that selection may vary by location. However, I saw the following at Fairview, Pointe-Claire (near Montreal):

  • Emmet and Benny’s Build and Fix Workshop
  • Emmet’s Builder Box
  • Iconic Chess Set
  • Indoraptor Rampage at Lockwood Estate (retired product – click for review)
  • Lucy’s Builder Box
  • Rex’s Rex-treme Offroader (click for review)
  • Systar Party Crew
  • Ultrakatty and Warrior Lucy (click for review)
  • Wyld-Mayhem Starfighter

One does not simply walk into the LEGO® Store.

While tempted by a second Indoraptor Rampage set (the kit has a great brick selection), I opted not to go for a sale. The LEGO® Store had three of the four new Jurassic World sets on the shelves. I did not see any other summer 2020 sets. However, these new Jurassic World sets are on my wish list. The only one I did not see in store was Dr. Wu’s Laboratory (75939). Consequently, I picked up my #1 wish: Indominus rex VS Ankylosaurus (75941). Incidentally, these sets are now available online too. However, the Indominus set and Wu’s Laboratory are already on backorder.

My set purchase earned me the July 2020 freebie. This month, spending $85 or more earns a free Creative Fun 12-in-1 kit. The set is summer themed and available until July 26 (or while supplies last). Originally, I intended to skip this offer. However, the LEGO® Store re-opening changed my purchase plans a little since I found a summer 2020 set earlier than expected.

What did the LEGO® Group send me?

Unboxing of my gift from the LEGO® Group.

To make the day even better, I came home from my trip to a nice surprise. The LEGO® Group sent me a present. In my role as an ambassador, I often provide feedback and my opinion on varying topics. To say thanks, they sent me the Creator Expert Fiat 500! The set announcement came last February, and the set release followed in March. My kit came all the way from Denmark and features international packaging not normally seen in Canada. However, the difference is subtle.

There you have the addendum to my July haul. I have some building to do this weekend! Do you have any recent LEGO® Store or haul experiences to share? Let me know in the comment below or on social media. Until next time,

-Tom
