Twelve new characters are coming your way with the Minifigure Series 24! Collectible Minifigures are a big draw for many LEGO® fans and the anticipation for the next series begins almost as soon as the previous one is announced. It doesn’t seem like all that long ago that Series 23 was revealed back in June. The minifigures are still packaged in the foil bags as the switch to carboard boxes won’t take place until September 2023. While Series 23 was very costume oriented, this time we have a nice mix of costumes and more realistic characters. Let’s take a closer look at Minifigure Series 24!

Minifigure Series 24 Details

Minifigures up close
Football Referee and Robot Warrior
With the recent Table Football set, it is not surprising to see the Football Referee. Gotta love that soccer ball! Her facial expression is also pretty great. Clearly she means business when handing out her yellow and red cards. My partner suggested that her head would be perfect for a drive-thru MOC (My Own Creations). Clearly she envisioned her dealing with unruly customers. In contrast, I find the Robot Warrior less appealing but then fantasy type figures have never been my favourite. However, I do love the brick built laser. The use of pink roller skates is pretty awesome! I also like the sand green and pink combination. Perhaps the head could be used for a spooky Halloween MOC scene as well.

Brown Astronaut & Space Baby and Carrot Mascot
And who could resist space baby! I’m not even a space fan and I will need a nursery full of space babies! There is also a printed tile baby monitor showing space baby catching some z’s! In addition, the Astronaut in reddish brown (aka regular brown) will be sure to be a fan favourite. I am also a big fan of my vegetables and love the Carrot Mascot figure with the Farmers Market sign. That will definitely come in handy for MOCs. The expression on the carrot’s face is super cute as well. I also like that it appears that the torso features a print unlike many costume minifigures that have plain torsos.

Falconer and T-Rex Costume Fan
The Falconer is a nice way to build up your allied faction from your Lion Knights’ Castle. She also follows the female knight in Series 23. Great to see more representation! I love the archer’s red hair but I love her falcon even more. She also comes with a dark blue cape. Next up is the T-Rex Costume Fan. While we have seen lizards and dragons, I don’t believe we have seen a dinosaur minifigure before. And this one has a fairly menacing expression! He’ll come in great for Halloween MOCs or as a way to bring a different element to your Jurassic scenes.

Conservationist and Orc
I absolutely love the Conservationist. He has awesome scruffy hair poking out from under his ball cap and I’m always looking for legs with a belt print. As much as I love the minifigure, I love the koala even more. The koala is even hanging onto a piece of bamboo. Can it get any more adorable?! On the other side of the adorable spectrum is the Orc. The Orc is nicely detailed and I can see folks wanting to pick up a few of these to create an Orc army. The Orc also has a tattered dark red cape and the jagged skull print on the shield is particularly awesome.

Potter and Rococo Aristocrat
The Potter is one of my favourites. I love that her hair is wrapped up in a scarf to get it out of the way and that there is clay all over her outfit. The clay bowl and cup are also awesome and it will be nice to have these in a new colour. I also love that her hands are covered in clay. Very realistic! She is quite the contrast to the Rococo Aristocrat of high social class with her Venetian ceruse (white face makeup), pannier (wide hooped dress), and fontange (tall headdress). She also comes with a chihuahua but in white. The chihuahua has only come in medium nougat previously.

Rockin’ Horse Rider and Newspaper Kid
Another cute addition to this minifigure series is the Rockin’ Horse Rider. The face of the rocking horse looks similar to standard LEGO® horses. Although the little girl is far too wide for the rocking horse, I appreciate that LEGO® attempted to create this nostalgic element of many people’s childhood. The little girl is also wearing a super cute unicorn print on her shirt. Last but certainly not least is the Newspaper Kid. The torso features awesome suspenders and there is a patch on the pants. The Newspaper Kid comes with the ubiquitous hat and bag associated with newspaper carriers. They have a great facial expression as if they are shouting to announce the daily paper. In addition to a newspaper tile, they also comes with a slingshot element. This is definitely one of my favourites from this series.

Minifigure Series 24 will be available January 1, 2023 online but January 2 in store since the 1st is a holiday. Unfortunately, one thing you will notice is the jump in price to $5.99 CAD. I suppose this was expected given the recent price increases. Although I don’t want to pay an extra dollar per minifigure, I am grateful the price didn’t jump as high as the Mario character packs… yet. Regardless, I am sure both kids and AFOLs (Adult Fans of LEGO®) will be still be picking up their favourite characters from Minifigures Series 24 since there are some really awesome characters. Which ones are you going to be sure to pick up? Are there any that you would like to have multiples of? Share your thoughts below or let us know your favourites on social media!
Play well folks,
-Krista (she/her)

This is definitely the last series I will be collecting. Thanks LEGO for increasing the price and scheduling the minifigure packaging change later in September 2023. It makes walking away so much easier 😉
I’m certainly not looking forward to the package change… feeling the bags for specific characters is a big part of the experience for me. Plus, I like knowing what I’m getting. The price hike… well… not keen on it, but I love my Minifigures. I might just have to be less religious about the collecting the whole series.
