Bricklink Designer Program R3

Mark your calendars, the Bricklink Designer Program R3 is coming soon! Bricklink has confirmed the launch date for the third round of crowdfunding. Nine new sets are included in the wave. The prices are high, but the options are lovely. I am a little bummed that these sets were not spread out a little more in other waves. There are a lot of stunning kits that will hit your wallet hard this time around. Two sets were moved from previous rounds into this offering. Mountain View Observatory was originally slated for round one, while Brickwest Studios moved over from round two. I doubt I will buy more than one given the high prices seen here. It makes the picking process quite challenging. Had the Observatory come out on schedule, at least I would have one less option to mull over now.

NOTE: I have included brick counts and cost/brick data, however these values may change before the sets are actually released.

The Bricklink Designer Program R3 offerings are quite impressive. I would not mind acquiring any of these. However, given the steep competition for my LEGO® budget, I have to narrow the list down. So far, my top picks are the Mountain View Observatory, Studgate Train Station, Steam Powered Science, and Modular Construction Site. Narrowing the list that much was hard… now I have a few days to narrow it down even more. The third round of crowdfunding opens May 17, 2022 at 1:00 pm EST/10:00 am PST. What set are you hoping to pick up? Let us know in the comments below or reach out on social media.

Until next time,

-Tom

  1. Ow, those prices are rough. Thanks for breaking this down. I’ve had the same dilemma…so hard to narrow down. So far I’d ‘ideally’ like modular construction and train station. If cost was a bit more palpable I’d add the western set, diner and steam powered set. But am dreaming hah
