Round Three Sets Sold Out!

The Bricklink Designer Program round three sets sold out in less than 24 hours. By the time I logged on on May 17, it was close to 2:00 pm. Of nine sets in the round, three were already crowdfunded. The Winter Chalet, Studgate Train Station, and 1950s Diner were all over 3000 orders. Following close behind, you could already tell that the Mountain View Observatory and Modular Construction site were soon to follow. I snatched up the Mountain View Observatory immediately. Within minutes of completing my order, the set reached production status. Following that, I decided to wait a little. My preferred secondary picks had not reached 3000 pre-orders.

Round three sets sold out within 24 hours.

When I checked back around 5:00 pm, the Chalet, Studgate, the Diner, and the Observatory were all sold out. The Modular Construction site rounded out the top five sets. Consequently, since it was also on my wish list, I ordered one of those too. Around 9:00 pm, I checked again for fun. Very few Modular Construction Sites remained. By this morning at 7:00 am, Bricklink advertised all five sets sold out. These events closely mirrored Round One. However, in that case, one set (Castle in the Forest) sold out within 30 minutes. Round two options did not go quite as quickly, but five options reached funded status within 24 hours.

I ordered the Mountain View Observatory and Modular Construction Site.

The demand for the Bricklink Designer Program sets was high, especially in this round. While the sets were pricey, they were also stunning. I would have been thrilled with any one of them. In the end, I ordered two. In previous rounds, I acquired one set per round (Castle in the Forest and Venetian Houses). I am really looking forward to all of these. I hope the Bricklink Designer program continues! Did you acquire anything before the round three sets sold out? Let us know in the comments below or reach out on social media.

Until next time,

-Tom

  1. I managed to grab modular construction site as-well and the Diner. Wanted the train station but that price… and as much as I loved the grandeur look of it, it didn’t look an interesting build. The Observatory is a nice catch thou. Can’t get them all 🙁
