Heart of Brick – Fantasy Minifigures Series

Minifigure Monday is a weekly celebration of the amazing LEGO® minifig! In the past, I shared some form of art inspired by actual LEGO® characters. However, for the last few weeks, I have been getting more creative. I am designing my own Fantasy Minifigure Series based on music entertainers. Each artist influenced me somehow over the years and makes my personal favorite artists list. I have already shared Build On, #FreeBRICKney, Brick It Up, Hollabrick Girl, and S.N.O.T. Criminal. This week, I turn back time with Heart of Brick.

This entry’s inspiration came from a true musical icon, Cher. Last week, I commented how Michael Jackson was the first entertainer I remember recognizing for his music. However, Cher provided me with the first song I liked of my own volition. The year was 1989, I was seven, and Cher released Turn Back Time. Prior to that, I liked a lot of music. However, my older sister and parents influenced my taste. I liked songs and artists they listened to. At the time, I did not know who Cher was. However, I remember hearing the song on the radio, liking it, and even learning the chorus on my own. Afterwards, my mother told me about Cher and how long she had already been around.

Don’t you sometimes wish you heart was made of brick?

Cher is currently the only artist in history to have a top ten single in each of the last six decades. Additionally, she is the recipient of countless awards, including a Grammy and an Oscar. If anyone deserves to inspire a minifig, it is Cher. Turn Back Time was a single off of her 19th studio album, Heart of Stone. For my Minifigure, I decided to make a play on that title with Heart of Brick. Incidentally, her look came from the Turn Back Time music video. The video was very controversial for the time given Cher’s outfit. It remains controversial today in terms of a family friendly Minifigure look. As such, I toned it down a little, taking tips from the LEGO® Batman Movie Black Canary character. I figure if the LEGO® Group produced fishnet there, it’s probably okay for minifig Cher.

That concludes this week’s Fantasy Minifigure Series Heart of Brick entry. Check back next week for a new entertainer I would love to see in LEGO® form. Do you have a Fantasy Minifigure Series or character? Feel free to comment below or reach out on social media.

Until next time,
