Today, I have some more September 2019 new set pics for you. A couple of days ago, I posted some images of the 2019 City and Harry Potter Advent calendars that are going be released on September 1. You can click here to read more about them. Yesterday, I went to Toys R Us again to see if I could find the Star Wars and Friends calendars. Unfortunately, the Friends version was not there. However, I did find the Star Wars calendar.
Similar to the Harry Potter version, Star Wars also costs $49.99 in Canada. The calendar contains 280 bricks, which comes out to $0.18/brick. Consequently, the Star Wars calendar is the worst value of out the three I have looked at so far. You also get the smallest number of Minifigures. However, in fairness, the droid does bring the figurine count up to par, even if it is not technically a Minifigure.
The City Ski Resort is already available in Canada.
While I did not find the Friends calendar to photograph for you, I did find another newbie. Also advertised with a retail date of September 1, the City Ski Resort is already available at Toys R Us. This set costs $119.99, has 806 pieces, and 11 Minifigures. You are looking at a cost-per-brick of $0.15, which is actually good for a City theme set. While I do not know if I would actually keep this set built as is, I do like the look of it. There is a lot of reusable signage, and a good-looking brick selection. I might just pick this one up.
What are your thoughts on the upcoming Advent calendars, or the new Ski Resort set? Feel free to comment in the space below, or hit me up on social media (links below as well). Hopefully you enjoyed this September 2019 new set pics update.
Until next time,
