Say hello to Viking Shield Maiden #2. Unlike many other characters I have shared recently, I have not named this one. She follows on the heels of Viking Shield Maiden #1, both of whom use Tasha the Witch Queen from the Dungeons and Dragons Minifigures series as a base. I am creating a small army of similar looking female warriors. Each one also features war paint from the Ninjago Harumi minifig. Since these women are designed to be background army characters, I differentiated them only by their hairpieces. Future shield maidens in this group will follow the same trend.

For Viking Shield Maiden #2, I took the hairpiece from the Phoebe Buffay character included in the FRIENDS: Apartments set. The Minifigure remains unique to that set, as does her hairpiece in this particular colour. In fact, the hairpiece is not common in any colour. Only five sets include it. It comes in four different colours, this cool yellow, dark red, dark brown, and white. You can find it in the following sets:
- 10291 – Icons: Queer Eye Fab 5 Loft (dark brown)
- 10292 – Icons: FRIENDS Apartments (cool yellow)
- 42615 – Friends: Pet Adoption Day (white)
- 71024 – Disney Series 2 Minifigures: Sally (dark red)
- 76403 – Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic (dark brown)

When I revealed Shield Maiden #1, I wasn’t sure how I would use this group of warriors. Since then, I have started designing a Viking Longboat using the Marvel Comics Goat Boat as a base. I recently decided on an all female crew for that ship. I think my Harumi/Tasha mashup characters will be those women. As always, stay tuned since there’s more to come as I continue to develop my custom LEGO® Viking settlement.
Until next time,
-Tom
