The five finalists for Bricklink Series 4 were announced today. From here, the concepts go into the refining stage. The fan designers of the upcoming sets will consult with the LEGO® model governance and instructions teams to make adjustments to the designs. This stage extends until January 1, 2025. The sets are slated to enter the crowdfunding stage the following February. Being completely honest, I like what I see. But, then again, I am a classic Castles fan… and let’s be honest, the Bricklink Designer Program is turning into the new Castles theme. With that said, here’s a look at the five finalists.

Bricklink Designer Program Series 4 Medieval Seaside Market
Bricks_fan_uy’s fan concept for the Medieval Seaside Market (2183 bricks, 7 Minifigures).
Merchant Boat
NicolasCarlier’s fan concept for the Merchant Boat (1933 bricks, 2 Minifigures)
Bricklink Designer Program Series 4 Riverside Scholars
Hanwas’ fan concept for the Riverside Scholars (2692 bricks, 4 Minifigures)
Siege Encampment
Sleeplessnight’s fan concept for the Siege Encampment (2637 bricks, unknown number of Minifigures)
Bricklink Designer Program Series 4 Wild West Train
llucky’s fan concept for the Wild West Train (2760 bricks, 6 Minifigures)

Of these, the Medieval Seaside Market is probably my favourite. It goes well with recent sets like the Lion Knights Castle and Medieval Town Square if you are building a Castles scene. However, the Siege Encampment features my favourite knight faction. My third choice is the Merchant Boat. Even though the minifigs look modern, the ship has a steampunk vibe. They are all very nice designs, but the Wild West Train doesn’t fit the general look of the others. What do you think of Bricklink Series 4? Let me know in the comments or reach out on social media.

Until next time,

-Tom
