Yesterday, the LEGO® Group shared an official look at the two GWPs coming for Insiders Weekend on November 18 and 19, 2023. Today, they’ve gone a step farther and shared all of the details surrounding Insiders Weekend 2023… and I’m a little upset about the price points to get the aforementioned GWPs. Majisto’s Magical Workshop, which I have looked forward to for months, requires a $330 CAD spend. Meanwhile, the Winter Market Stall comes for $220 CAD. Some of you might be thinking that’s not a huge difference from last year. But let’s take a moment to break this down.

Last year, we saw the Winter Elves Scene and the Tribute to LEGO® House available for Insiders Weekend (formerly VIP Weekend). Winter Elves Scene was a 372-piece set with a $24.99 CAD value that came with purchases over $220 CAD. The LEGO® House Tribute was a 583-piece set with a $39.99 CAD value. It came with purchases over $320 CAD. Yesterday, I speculated based on brick counts that Majisto would come with purchases around $200 CAD and the Winter Market Stall would come around $140 CAD. As you can see, I was WAY off. This year’s Insiders Weekend is offering sets at the same price points as last year, but giving us fewer bricks. Majisto’s Magical Workshop is comparable in brick count to the Winter Elves Scene from last year. In fact, it has slightly fewer bricks. I’m disappointed.

With that said, it will be quite easy to hit the $330 CAD mark. I’ve have been saving items on my wish list for just such an event where I can get multiple GWPs and double points. Some of the sets I want are even on sale, and others are available for TRIPLE Insiders points.

While I remain a little miffed by the price points this year, I will probably do some shopping this weekend. I have been waiting to buy the Viking Village… but it doesn’t actually qualify me for any GWPs. In order to get the Majisto set I’ve been eagerly waiting for, I have to basically double my planned expenditure. I am not impressed… The Tranquil Garden is also on my wish list, and it scores triple points. However, even that an the Viking Village are still not enough to earn Majisto’s Magical Workshop. What do you think? Are these offers worth spening $330 CAD? Let me know in the comments or reach out on social media.
Until next time,
-Tom

Is it just me or is this a bit much! “Redeem 1800 points for a Holiday Tin Ornament bauble.” If my calculations are right that’s equal to $18 No thanks.
Depends what you like I guess. I’m not going for it.
Tricky question…do you know if any of the money off sets will offer any points?
From what I’ve understood, the discounts will require a code from the rewards center, meaning you can only get one discount per purchase. The code should not cost you any saved points to redeem. You should still get more points on the dollar amount you spend… So you will likely not get points on the discounted portion from the code you redeem.
Talk about Captain Information!!! Thanks!! much appreciated!
You’re welcome 😁
Wow the reason I subscribed was because you made a colouring page of Harumi
I think that last year’s VIP offerings were better and I have them.
I haven’t decided if I want to spend over $330.00 CAD to get the Majisto’s Magic Workshop.
That is a lot of money to spend before Christmas with other gifts to be purchased.
I am also not impressed with the Triple and Quadruple Points offerings.
There is nothing on the Sets on Sale for Insiders Weekend 2023 that I want that I don’t have.
I think that TLG has had better offerings for VIP (now Insiders) members in past years.
Thanks for passing along all the information as it is greatly appreciated.
Cheers. Cobra64
I think a lot of people are undecided now that we’ve seen the prices 😕
Hi Tom can you make a normal Harumi colouring page please I have already got the avatar Harumi one!
While I’m super happy you’ve been a subscriber for so long, I’m sorry you’ve been waiting so long for a new coloring page 😬
Hi Tom ,
Triple points, that means like -15% off ?
Me too, I am shocked by the prices for both GWP. I like only the Winter Stall though.
Yup, it is basically 15% cashback… Black Friday might have bigger discounts depending on what sets you’re after
Definitely not purchasing anything this time, sadly. The points are not an incentive enough for me to spend enough to get either of the GWPs as they are crrrrazy high.
I was thinking if the winter stall was around $150-180 I could swing it but it’s definitely not in my budget at the current time to spend over $200 let alone $300.
I love the Ninjago City Gardens set and the $90 off is nice, but $90 off of $450 is still very expensive! I’ll wait to see what sales are like on Black Friday and possibly buy a few small sets.
The A Frame Cabin is my wish list item but until I’m back in the green (or the black) I won’t be getting that unless it went on sale.
I wasn’t that impressed with Ninjago City Gardens when I finally built it. I liked the original Ninjago City so much more… A-Frame looks amazing though. I own it, but have not built it yet.
