The results are in! Back in May 2022, LEGO® Ideas gave second wind to three past 10k submissions. These sets did not make the final cut for development. Subsequently, in collaboration with Target, LEGO® Ideas opened a fan vote. Their goal was to develop one of the sets into a Target exclusive in the United States. This is one of many collaborations between the two companies. Recent efforts include VIP points, an exclusive merch collection, and other Target-only sets like Bean There, Donut That. Well, the wait is finally over. Today, the LEGO® Group revealed the Target x LEGO® Ideas results. Personally, I am thrilled because my vote won!
And the winner is… the Viking Village! The concept raked in 47% of the fan vote. Comparatively, Marine Life came in at 20%, while Mini-Golf earned the remaining 33%. In total, fans cast 34,624 votes. The Viking Village will now enter the final design and production phase. The fan model, designed by BrickHammer, featured around 2100 bricks and three Minifigures. However, the final product may differ. The official pricing and brick count will follow later. Also, Canadians will be able to buy this set through LEGO.com. Despite being exclusive to Target in the United States, the set will not only retail in the US.

I am really excited about this set. It earned my vote. Additionally, it will look great with the Viking Ship and the Midgard Serpent set from the summer 2022 lineup. The original Vikings sets from the LEGO® Group came out in my dark age. Consequently, I totally missed out on them. I am really happy for this recent resurgence, even if it is limited to two sets. Similar to Pirates and Castles comebacks in recent years, I love seeing old themes revived. In fact, I am so excited about these Vikings, I might just go out and get the Viking Ship set in anticipation of the Viking Village! What do you think of the Target x LEGO® Ideas vote results?
