December is here, and with it comes waves of new set announcements from the LEGO® Group. We have already seen the upcoming Chinese New Year, Super Mario, Monkie Kid, and Architecture sets. The next round of offerings hails from the City theme. There is a lot of stuff to get excited about here, including new NASA themed sets that coincide with the upcoming launch of the first Artemis mission to the moon. Additionally, fans of the more typical, Earth-based City sets get some fun new builds as well. Interestingly, this announcement contains sets hitting store shelves in January as well as in March. Closing thoughts…
There is a lot to get excited about in this wave of sets. Number one, that Lunar Research Base! It looks amazing. I loved the Lunar Space Station from 2019 and regretted not buying two before it retired. This new set looks like it will go great along side the 2019 set. Second, we get a new hospital. The last City hospital was in 2018. I am thrilled the color and style of this new building matches, making this a nice extension. Other highlights include new squirrel and kitten figurines, ice cream cone costumes, and the return of the Minifigure hazmat suit. What do you think of the 2022 City sets?
