The LEGO® Group just announced the 2022 Monkie Kid sets dropping on January 1. While they revealed one of these sets at the Chinese International Import Expo, the rest are new. Monkie Kid is an interesting theme. I have reviewed a number of the sets since it debuted in stores. Some of the sets are a little lame… but others are simply amazing. Like Flower Fruit Mountain. This wave sticks to that recipe. There are sets here that do not interest me at all. However, there are some that stopped me in my skimming tracks. Though from a different theme, this wave offers at least one set that will interest Ninjago City fans.

I have enjoyed Ninjago City, Ninjago City Docks, and Ninjago City Gardens. In fact, I liked them so much that I even started tinkering with a custom expansion to the sets. Consequently, I am very much looking forward to building the City of Lanterns. While the base of the set does not conform to the Ninjago City set-up, customizing it so it does could be fun.
