Bricktober 2021 at Toys R Us

Bricktober 2021 at Toys R Us is on! For the last two years, we barely mentioned the Bricktober event here at True North Bricks. Ever since the American Toys R Us went under, the offerings at Canadian stores have been paltry at best. Long gone are the amazing Minifigure packs of old. In fact, for the last two years, Toys R Us Canada has not offered anything exclusive. However, the Asian market continued to offer Bricktober items for the last couple of years in the form of micro-build sets not available anywhere else. Interestingly, it looks like Toys R Us Canada is jumping on that bandwagon this year.

Bricktober 2021 is actually already in full swing. The first micro-build set comes with purchases of $65 or more this week. The start of the event surprised many since last week’s store flyer contained no hints that anything was coming. In terms of the sets, it appears as though Canadians get last year’s Bricktober exclusives from Toys R Us Asia. The Asian market already advertised their exclusives for the year, and they are different from what we see here. In Canada, we get an assortment of micro-build amusement park rides.

While Toys R Us is trying to maintain an element of surprise in this year’s freebies, it is not hard to figure out what is coming. In fact, you only have to search for last year’s flyers from Asia to get full images. I went ahead and collected the pictures for your viewing pleasure below. On the one hand, I am happy Toys R Us is finally bringing back a respectable Bricktober. On the other hand, I would much rather get Minifigure packs. How do you feel?
