LEGO x Adidas ZX 8000 Haul

LEGO X Adidas ZX 8000 Shoe Haul

Back in September, the LEGO® Group unveiled their first collaboration with Adidas. It featured a playful take on the classic Adidas ZX 8000 sneakers. The shoes released as a limited edition, and they sold out before most fans even had the chance to get online for a look. Subsequently, a second shoe hit the market a few months later, the Ultra Boost DNA. It also sold out on day one. I began to fret that I would never get myself a pair of LEGO® branded sneakers. Fortunately, a third offering dropped on the Adidas website last week.  This time, we get a new variant of the LEGO x Adidas ZX 8000. Rather than the multi-colored first round, this wave features six different, single-colored versions of the shoe.

This time, I made sure not to miss out. I set myself a reminder on my phone and logged in at lunch from work to order a pair. This third wave seems to be a less limited run. However, I took no chances. I ordered two pairs on day one. As I write this, the shoes are still available at adidas.ca, but stock is running low, as are sizes. I ordered one black pair for everyday use and one red pair just for fun. Each pair of shoes retails for $170 CAD.

Every LEGO x Adidas ZX 8000 color comes packaged in a matching 2×3 brick-styled box.

Each pair of shoes comes packaged in a LEGO® themed box printed to resemble a large 2×3 brick. Additionally, the boxes come in the color of the shoes you order. Consequently, I received one red and one black box. These boxes look amazing. Firstly, they are quite large for shoe boxes. Secondly, the main portion of the box slides out of the printed sleeve like a drawer. These will make great storage boxes in my LEGO® room moving forward.

The shoes themselves are nice. You get a bright red LEGO® logo on the tongue. Additionally, the shoes feature a decorative brick attached to the laces, as well as studs on the stiffener. The studs have “LEGO” molded onto them. While these ZX 8000 shoes are not as colorful as the first version, they make for a more subtle way to show off your favorite brand. I am still disappointed that I missed the first design. However, I probably would have ordered one of these pairs as a more everyday shoe anyway.

The shoes feature fun LEGO® branding.

It is worth mentioning that these shoes came fast. It did not even take a week from when I ordered them to having the shoes on my doorstep. They are comfortable too! I love rocking my LEGO® t-shirts, and now I get to wear shoes as well. I have more fun LEGO® swag on the way, so stay tuned for that. Otherwise, how do you feel about the LEGO® x Adidas ZX 8000 shoes? Feel free to comment below or reach out on social media. You can also check out my unboxing of this shipment below or on YouTube.

Until next time,

-Tom
