Minifigure Monday is a weekly celebration of LEGO® Minifigures. This week, we take a moment to contemplate the end of the Holiday season through photography and poetry. With my Christmas break over, my wife and I took down our Christmas decorations. It is always a little sad, and today it inspired the first Minifigure Monday of 2020. I took down my Christmas tree.
Today, I felt a bit less glee,
As I took down my Christmas tree.
For weeks it twinkled through the nights,
But now extinguished are its lights.
Gone the bells that once did jingle,
Striped away the sparkling tinsel.
The ornaments are boxed away,
And packed away they’ll have to stay.
Gone silent are the Christmas tunes,
They won’t be heard for many moons.
I’ve packed away that festive cheer,
At least until later this year.
