I built a custom frog using LEGO® bricks to celebrate World Frog Day in 2024. Subsequently, I entered my design into the Level it Up LEGO® building contest and won! My frog earned a $500 CAD LEGO® gift card in the contest’s animals and plants category. I have never won a build competition before, nor entered one for that matter. I was so excited that I decided to share my frog design with the True North Bricks community. Using Bricklink’s Studio program, I created digital instructions for my frog MOC. You can download them for free or follow along with my YouTube step-by-step tutorial, both embedded below. Now you can learn how to build a frog using LEGO® bricks!

This build consists of 154 bricks. Building at a leisurely pace for the YouTube video, the frog took me approximately 20 minutes. Of course, that assumes you have found all your bricks in advance. You can see the parts list below, but it is also included in the PDF instructions. I used mostly the LEGO® Group’s sand green, yellow, and flame yellowish orange (bright light orange on Bricklink). However, frogs come in a wonderful variety of colours, so feel free to experiment. Also, parts in red and white (with the exception of the round 2×2 sphere with stud, 20953) are not visible in the final build. As such, their colour does not really matter. The same goes for the bar with 1×1 round plate (32828).
