I finally found the new pink BAM brick costume near Montreal. On my last visit to my usual store in Montreal’s West Island, I was unable to get my hands on this particular Minifigure. So, I drove out to the LEGO® Store in Laval. Their Build-A-Mini station was fully stocked with all the new Minifigure parts. Every time a new colour of brick costume comes out, I make sure to collect it. Similar to people who collect all the different colour classic astronauts, I want all the different colour brick costumes.

The first three brick costumes arrived in Collectible Minifigures Series 18 and 20. All the rest have shown up periodically at the BAM station. I have customized all of mine to have either hair or a hat that matches the colour of their costume exactly. Close doesn’t cut it for me either. Like with the latest pink BAM brick costume.

The pink BAM brick costume

The Pink BAM Brick Costume

The pink bun hairpiece that originally came with the Brooklynn Minifigure from the Jurassic World theme is currently available at the BAM station. However, the shade of pink included does not match the costume. Instead, I swapped it when I got home for another pink hairpiece I got in the January 2023 wave of BAM parts. This is the Harley Quinn hair originally seen in the LEGO® Batman Movie sets, but in a different colour. In this case, one of the shades of pink matches the brick costume, and I am fine with the other half being a different shade. The face was in the current BAM selection as well and features a faint pink heart on the cheek.

Blue CMF brick costume

The Blue CMF Brick Costume

This Minifigure came in CMF Series 18 in 2018. It was also available with the Mini Adidas Originals Superstar GWP. The Series 18 version had brown hair while the Adidas variant came with a white hat. I swapped the brown hair for a blue piece that was available in the January 2023 BAM selection. This style of hair originally arrived in a different colour in the Queer Eye Fab 5 Loft set in 2021, if I am not mistaken. I left the original Series 18 head on this case.

Similar to the blue CMF brick costume, the red variant also arrived in Series 18. She also had brown hair initially. For my version, I left on the original Series 18 head. However, I swapped the hair for the extra hairpiece that came with the Chilli Costume Fan minifig in Series 22. I am not sure when this hairpiece first came out. But I remember getting it for the first time in grey in the Outdoor Adventures People Pack, so it must have been around 2018.

The Green CMF Brick Costume

This was the special anniversary character included in Minifigures Series 20 from 2020. The series celebrated 10 years of the CMF blind bags, and this particular character had a commemorative tile to that effect. However, his hair was medium nougat in colour. I swapped it out for the green hair we got in Series 19 with the Video Game Champ. I’m not a huge fan of my brick costume character having a gaming headset on. However, this is the only hairpiece I own in the appropriate shade of green.

The Turquoise BAM Brick Costume

Yes, this is turquoise. The editing I did on the photo to give it the same dreamy, sparkly look as the others changed the shade of the costume. In any case, the Minifigure part appeared in BAM stations around the world in 2021. The Minifigure face I used is one of my favourites. The expression first appeared in the City Jungle sub-theme of 2017. However, we’ve gotten it in numerous sets since then. Additionally, the BAM station regularly offers the head. The hat is also one I found in the BAM station once upon a time.

The Orange BAM Brick Costume

The orange brick costume arrived in the January 2023 BAM selection alongside the blue and pink hairpieces I mentioned above. I pulled the head randomly when I made the BAM character. However, the hair is the extra hairpiece from the Carrot Mascot in Series 24. It also comes in the City Hospital set from 2022. The hairstyle first appeared in brown back in 2018.

The Light Blue BAM Brick Costume

The light blue brick costume arrived in BAM towers during 2022. This was the hardest one for me to match with a hairpiece or hat. In fact, I did not get anything matching this shade of blue until Minifigures Series 25 earlier this year. The hat I used came with the Train Kid. Again in this case, the head is just something random from the BAM station.

Since 2018, the only year not to offer a new colour of brick costume was 2019. For the last four years (including this year), BAM has consistently offered a new variant. I’m still hoping for a few more colours. I want one for each of the colours on the Everyone Is Awesome set. Have you been collecting all of the different brick costumes? Do you prefer other colour variant characters like spacemen? Let me know in the comments or reach out on social media.

Until next time,

-Tom

  1. The dual-colored hair piece looks awesome with the costume! I didn’t realize they’d made the brick-person figure in so many colors now. That’s a great idea to collect them.

    1. Thanks! The idea to collect them came to me a little late. I almost missed out on two colour variants. I suppose there would have always been BrickLink though.
