In the past, December has not been a huge month for releases. Typically, we see very little new in the lead up to Christmas and a whole slew of releases in January. However, this year, the LEGO® Group is doing something a little different. The annual modular building is not hitting store shelves on January 1. Instead, it comes out a month earlier, in time for the holiday rush. AFOLs can also rejoice in the release of the latest Botanical Collection set (Tiny Plants) and the newest from Ideas (the Orient Express). Additionally, we’re seeing a slew of video game related sets in the Super Mario, Sonic, and Minecraft themes. To top all that off, the two new GWPs I reported on earlier are available from December 1 – 14, or while supplies last. Without further ado, here are the December 2023 LEGO® releases.

I am a fan of this new release date for some of the larger, AFOL oriented sets. I always felt the January 1 street date for sets like the yearly modular was a little tone deaf. People have spent loads of money in the lead up to December. We don’t typically want to keep spending in January.
