Harry Potter Summer 2023 Sets

See that owl over yonder? Well she’s got a note saying that the Harry Potter Summer 2023 wave has been revealed by The LEGO®️ Group. After the usual period of leaked online images and rumours, we finally have the official listings and photos. Last year I was lucky enough to do a full review of the 2022 Summer wave. There were some real stand outs in that collection, and this year looks to continue much of the same ideas. A total of 10 new sets will release on June 1st. They include 7 regular sets and 3 Brickheadz. Let’s take a look at what’s coming up.

The Summer 2023 brickheadz are a nice grouping. I quite like the representation of the house quidditch uniforms as the focal point. And it’s nice to see a few new characters like Cho, Kingsley and Tonks. These 2-packs continue to be a great deal from a cost/brick standpoint as well. Those printed pieces should excite any Brickheadz and HP MOC builders.

The Summer 2023 wave is definitely better in terms of pricing compared to last years. Happily, like last year, there are some great brick-to-fig values with a number of new prints and characters. The buildable character this year is Dobby, which turned out pretty nice. It’s easily recognizable but I miss the flying creatures (Buckbeak would have been awesome). But yet another train? I read a hilarious observation online that the Hogwarts Express is the Luke’s Landspeeder of the Harry Potter universe. So accurate, as this is the 7th version of the train since the theme started over 20 years ago. At least this time we get Hogsmeade Station too. This new WWW shop is a nicely scaled down version of the one found in the D2C Diagon Alley (75978). And maybe we’ll be seeing more of the famous shops at this scale soon.

“Yer A Wizard ‘Arry”

I like this year’s line-up overall. The variety of sets is better than last year. But we still get a Hogwarts modular addition, character build and a number of well-scaled locations. After so many years of this relaunched theme, we’re still getting a decent shake up of ideas. Although, yet another train and no ‘New’ locations per se might make this a less desirable wave for some. But what do you think? Are yo excited for the Summer 2023 wave? Do you have the prior sets? What build (if any) are you still eager for?

Drop a comment and let us know. Thanks for reading and until next time, keep on brickin’.
