New 2023 Star Wars Sets for May and August

The LEGO® Group just revealed two new kits from a galaxy far, far away. These new 2023 Star Wars sets come out in May and August respectively, but are up for presale as of March 7. That is a lot of lead time… but, I suppose I bought sets from Bricklink Designer program, so I’m not one to talk. In any case, let’s take a look!

PIRATE SNUB FIGHTER

  • SET #: 75346
  • COST: $44.99 CAD ($34.99 USD)
  • BRICK COUNT: 285
  • MINIFIGURES: 2
  • RELEASE DATE: May 5, 2023 (a day after May the Fourth?)
  • COST/BRICK: $0.158 CAD (Satisfactory value.)
  • BRICKS/FIG: 143 (Good fig count for a set this size.)

The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter Microfighter

  • SET #: 75363
  • COST: $19.99 CAD ($15.99 USD)
  • BRICK COUNT: 88
  • MINIFIGURES: 1 + Grogu
  • RELEASE DATE: August 1, 2023
  • COST/BRICK: $0.227 CAD (Expensive bricks.)
  • BRICKS/FIG: 88 (Excellent fig count for a set this size.)

My first thought here was *GASP*! $19.99 for a microfighter? This set has fewer bricks than the Mando Razor Crest microfighter, which was $13.99 CAD. Granted, this set is the cheapest way to get Mandalorian and baby Yoda characters… but it is also the highest cost-per-brick. You pay $0.19/brick to buy the actual N-1 Starfighter set, and that comes with two Minifigs, Grogu, and a droid. Otherwise, this assortment includes some interesting new Minifigures. The Pirate Snub Fighter appears to include two Weequay pirates. We have not seen a Weequay minifig since Hondo Ohnaka in 2009, if memory serves. What do you think of the new 2023 Star Wars sets? Let me know in the comments or reach out on social media.

Until next time,

-Tom

  1. Mando and Grogu are becoming way too common. I understand why, but I don’t need anymore lol
