Back in June, LEGO® Con 2022 revealed the first set from the upcoming theme based on James Cameron’s Avatar. Now, four more Avatar sets were revealed at San Diego Comic Con. As a fan of the first film, I cannot wait to see the sequel this coming December. Additionally, I have eagerly waited to see more sets from the LEGO® theme. The Tree of Souls seen at LEGO® Con certainly piqued my interest. I included it below with the new announcements just for good measure.

These pictures reveal a number of interesting new aspects about this theme. For example, we get the first wheelchair bound BrickHeadz character. Additionally, we see how Minifigures form Tsaheylu (the bond) with other creatures on Pandora. The official press release also states the sets include glow in the dark plant elements. That will be fun when recreating a brick-built Pandora.
I have to admit I am not thrilled with the Thanator build. I love the new head mold, but the body needs a redesign. Additionally, I remain on the fence about the longer Na’vi legs. In the films, Na’vi are larger than humans. But I think I would be okay with the Minifigures being the same size. With that said, the Toruk and Ikran builds look great. I especially enjoy the look of the wings. I also like the Tree of Souls and Floating Mountains sets quite a bit. What do you think of the Avatar sets revealed at San Diego Comic-Con? Let us know in the comments below or on social media.
Until next time,
-Tom

I’m in the camp that thought the movie looked gorgeous but just didn’t hit any emotional highs with the story. Was just kinda meh really. And I like these kinda themes in a movie usually.
So I’m not sure on these sets. I like to have some emotional “That was awesome” energy when I see a movie or TV show but I don’t for this license.
The long legs look a bit wonky. Prob. be really nice once I see them in person. The soul of trees set looks the best overall with the tree itself and that red dragon beast.
Who knows, maybe the sequel will grab your interest? It’s certainly not for everyone though. Thanks for sharing your thoughts🙂
