MINI DISNEY THE HAUNTED MANSION (40521) REVEALED
We have our first glimpse of the new Mini Disney The Haunted Mansion (40521) set! Check out my unboxing video on YouTube. This set follows the 2021 release of the Mini Disney Castle (40478). I am a big fan of microscale and love that LEGO® came out with the Disney Mini models. However, the Haunted Mansion looks like it might be a different scale than the Mini Disney Castle. I haven’t built mine yet, but I may have to when I build the Haunted Mansion to see how they look together. Regardless, it still looks like a great little model and I imagine it will delight any Disney fan.

Although the price of The Haunted Mansion is $10 CAD higher than the Disney Castle, it does come with over 100 more pieces. Thus, both sets have a similar price per piece around $0.08 which is excellent value. Similar to the castle set, a minifigure is also included in The Haunted Mansion. The addition of the exclusive Butler minifigure is definitely a plus. I love the facial expression of the Butler and his dark turquoise jacket is on point! Additionally, the model has an open back revealing various paintings found in the gallery. Whether printed tiles or stickers, these will be an awesome addition to any LEGO® fan’s collection.
I was really happy when LEGO® revealed the Mini Disney Castle since I haven’t been able to justify picking up the big Disney Castle (71040). However, I didn’t expect additional models representing different buildings or rides at the Disney theme parks. I love that we are seeing a second model in this sub-theme! Now that we have the Mini Disney The Haunted Mansion, I wonder if LEGO® will be releasing more sets in the future. In particular, I would love a mini Matterhorn, Splash Mountain, or Space Mountain. My list could really go on and on! Which Disney park building or ride would you like to see in LEGO® microscale? Tell us below or share your favourites with us on social media. We’d love to hear from you!
