Two More Star Wars Sets Revealed

The reveals for the Summer 2022 Star Wars sets continue at this year’s Star Wars Celebration. We now have the official pics and info on BD-1 (75335) and Ambush on Ferrix (75338). BD-1 is the first (and hopefully not last) set based on the Jedi: Fallen Order video game. In that game – which is amazing btw – BD-1 is the loyal droid companion or Jedi Padawan in hiding, Cal Kestis. The second set will reference the upcoming, and recently previewed, Andor TV series on Disney+. And as that show will not premiere until August, I can’t yet gush about how much I love it. But if you watch the trailer, you will get major Rogue One vibes, and I am HERE FOR IT!! Both sets are currently up for pre-order on the LEGO® website with a release date of August 1st. Read on below for the set details and photos.

BD-1 (75335) is a UCS-style set complete with info plaque and small minifig character/part. It follows in the footst—-er, treads (??) of the UCS R2-D2 (75308), Imperial Probe Droid (75305), D-O (75278) and BB-8 (75187). These are great display pieces with great detailing. UCS brick-built characters are a great sub-theme in the Star Wars line and I hope they continue – Droids or otherwise. And it’s a treat to be getting sets from new properties like Fallen Order. That game has SO MANY great ships, items and locations to draw inspiration from, so I hope we get to see a lot more.

Ambush on Ferrix (75338) is a nice little playset with decent minifigures and a nice build. And like BD-1, it’s great to have a new Star Wars set based on a new property. Branching out into all these new series and characters will definitely help add some variety to the theme. The ship looks like a tiny Republic Gunship with plenty of room inside for minfigs. Still no idea who these folks are, but they look good.
