Welcome back for Bargain Bricks: Episode 9. This week, I continue to part out sets from the 13.6 kg of bricks I shared in Episode 3. The bin included a number of Star Wars sets, including the topic of today’s video: Droid Escape (9490). This kit was on store shelves from 2012 through 2013. Interestingly, it contains two unique stormtroopers. Did I get a deal on this set? Not really.
If I look at just the bricks, Droid Escape cost me $6.63, which is pretty good. However, all the Minifigures were missing from my bulk bin. Being a stickler for completion, I ordered them off Bricklink. Three minifigs cost me $25.90. While my kit is now 100% complete, I did not save much based on Bricklink prices. The average for a used copy of Droid Escape is around $23. However, sets that are 100% complete (including Minifigure pauldrons) are more like $35. I paid $32.53 including Bricklink orders.
