Today The LEGO®️ Group reveals three Star Wars Dioramas for the upcoming Spring wave of 2022 sets. Switching gears a bit, these sets are display pieces that will fit right in with similar 18+ offerings. Each one will capture a memorable moment from A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. All three sets also have a printed tile with a quote from the film on the display base. Traditionally sets of this type are exclusives like Bespin Duel (75294) and Nebulon-B Frigate (77904). They also remind me of the recent anniversary GWPs like Tatooine Homestead (40451), Battle of Hoth (40333) and Battle of Endor (40362). They will definitely look good in your collection and it’s nice to get something a little different from the line.

All three sets are currently up for pre-order on LEGO.COM, with a release date of April 26th. Read on below for more details and photos.
DEATH STAR TRENCH RUN
- SET #: 75329
- THEME: Star Wars
- COST: $79.99 CAD
- BRICK COUNT: 665
- MINIFIGURES: None
- PRE-ORDER DATE: March 24, 2022
- RELEASE DATE: April 26, 2022
- COST/BRICK: $0.12 (good value)
- BRICK-TO-FIG RATIO: N/A
- DIMENSIONS: 10 cm high x 22 cm wide x 15 cm deep

This is smallest set by piece count and the only one in micro-scale. The ships look good at this small scale and the greebling on the Death Star surface is fantastic. The X-Wing stands out well against all that grey, but the TIE Fighters do get lost in the monocrhome a bit. And if you look carefully at Luke’s X-Wing you’ll see a new 1×1 round tile with an R2-D2 dome print. It’s…kind of adorable. This set really feels like an upgraded Death Star II Battle (40407) GWP from 2020.

DAGOBAH JEDI TRAINING
- SET #: 75330
- THEME: Star Wars
- COST: $109.99 CAD
- BRICK COUNT: 1000
- MINIFIGURES: 3
- PRE-ORDER DATE: March 24, 2022
- RELEASE DATE: April 26, 2022
- COST/BRICK: $0.11 (great value)
- BRICK-TO-FIG RATIO: 333 bricks/fig (decent value for this type of set)
- DIMENSIONS: 16 cm high x 29 cm wide x 17 cm deep

Of all the Star Wars dioramas, this is the largest, and frankly the coolest. This is a great looking set. The green swamp water looks really good, as does the one X-Wing s-foil sticking out. The trees and vegetation are also standouts thanks to great shapes and colouring. The minifigures look like to be the same ones included in Yoda’s Hut (75208) from 2018, though. We all hope for new exclusive prints, but if it works, it works. It’s also a great way to keep set costs down, which I’m always for.

DEATH STAR TRASH COMPACTOR
- SET #: 75339
- THEME: Star Wars
- COST: $119.99 CAD
- BRICK COUNT: 802
- MINIFIGURES: 6
- PRE-ORDER DATE: March 24, 2022
- RELEASE DATE: April 26, 2022
- COST/BRICK: $0.15 (fair value)
- BRICK-TO-FIG RATIO: 134 bricks/fig (great value for a set this size)
- DIMENSIONS: 10 cm high x 21 cm wide x 15 cm deep

This set easily wins for cheekiest quote 😂 I never expected this scene to get it’s own set, but, it works. The details are solid and the moving walls add a very cool element of play to what’s otherwise a display piece. Including 6 minifigures with 800 pieces makes for a decent value. Once again, they look to be reissues of existing figs, but having the full cast is a nice bonus. HOLD ON!! Actually, C-3PO seems to have new arm printing – game changer! TBD on the rest of our heroes. Outside of the LEGO®️ branded stores, this set will be exclusive to Wal-Mart stores upon release.

DIORAMA-RAMA!
And there we have it. Our first confirmed Star Wars sets for Spring 2022. The dioramas are an interesting change-up for the Star Wars line, but I do like them. Of the three, I am excited for the Training on Dagobah. It’s definitely got the best overall design. I hope to see more of these in future releases. Getting dioramas from the prequel trilogy and Clone Wars would be awesome. But what do you all think? Are you excited for these diorama display sets? Do you have a favourite scene you want to see? Are there other film properties you would like to see get the diorama treatment? Comment below and let us know. And as always, keep on brickin’. 🧱
