While perusing the Toys R Us Canada website this evening, I happened across an interesting find. The Canadian toy retailer is getting a LEGO® Star Wars exclusive set. Judging from the images, the set celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Empire Strikes Back. Incidentally, the film was released on May 21, 1980. The set itself is the Star Wars Bespin Duel.
What to expect from Star Wars Bespin Duel:
- NAME: Bespin Duel
- SET #: 75294
- THEME: Star Wars
- COST: $49.94 CAD
- BRICK COUNT: 295
- MINIFIGURES: 2
- RELEASE DATE: I am guessing September 1 with the rest.
- COST-PER-BRICK: $0.17 (That is high, earning 70% in a review.)
- BRICK-TO-FIG RATIO: 148:1 (Good, earning 81% in a review.)

The official set description reads:
R Exclusive, only available at Toys R Us Canada. Disconnect from the daily grind and reconnect with nostalgic Star Wars memories with this detailed Bespin Duel build-and-display LEGO model (75294). Marking the 40th anniversary of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, it cleverly recreates the iconic Luke Skywalker vs. Darth Vader Cloud City duel scene. Build and display this fun, creative construction set which features Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader LEGO minifigures with lightsabers. It also has a display stand with a 40th anniversary nameplate to complete a wonderful centerpiece for your home or office.

The wording in the set description and box design indicate that this set will be geared towards adult collectors. While it comes at a slightly expensive cost-per-brick, it does feature a good number of Minifigures for a set of this size. What are your thoughts on this surprise addition to the upcoming Star Wars line-up? Feel free to comment below or shout out on social media.
Until next time,
-Tom
