LEGO Bricktales Game Coming

The LEGO® Group just announced a new video game, LEGO Bricktales is coming soon. Players will guide a Minifigure through five LEGO® brick worlds, helping other Minifigures solve challenges. Each challenge allows players to design unique solutions to problems using virtual LEGO® bricks. Oddly, the press release makes no mention of the official release date, nor does it discuss the gaming platforms on which to play. However, the visuals look great and the gameplay (see trailer below) appears amusing.

LEGO Bricktales coming soon!

The press release shares the following details:

Travel across a diverse range of intricate and colorful diorama biomes all fully built from LEGO bricks, and get captivated by the charming story, LEGO Bricktales encourages you to unlock your creativity as you build your own solutions to the game’s many inventive puzzles.

In LEGO Bricktales, journey across 5 different LEGO themed biomes and use an intuitive new brick-by-brick building mechanic to solve puzzles and bring your solutions to life. From purely aesthetic creations, such as market stands and music boxes, up to functional physics-based puzzles like building cranes and gyrocopters, LEGO Bricktales offers a host of challenges and quests to test your imagination and building skills.

I love the look of these new brick-built worlds. I find them quite inspirational in terms of helping to develop custom landscapes. Additionally, I find the concept of solving puzzles much more appealing as a video game than running around and brawling, for example. That is more of a personal thing, and others likely feel differently. However, I like to take my time and not feel stressed when I play video games. What do you think of the LEGO Bricktales game coming our way? Let us know in the comments below or reach out on social media. Also, catch the trailer for the game below!

Until next time,

-Tom

  • Interesting! I love the LEGO video game series because I enjoy the puzzles and my absolute favourite part is playing the games for months searching for all the hidden gold bricks etc. I tried to play LEGO Worlds, and I just couldn’t get into it because it was too unstructured. But I look at this new game and wonder if it’s sort of a combo of both style games, like a happy medium. I’ll certainly try it out if it’s console based!
