2022 Star Wars Helmets Revealed

More sets inbound folks, so look sharp! Hot off the droid assembly line we have the 2022 Star Wars helmet collection. These sets are part of the 18+ or “LEGO® For Adults” line and brings us accurately rendered and scaled down versions of popular Star Wars headgear. The first offerings in this theme included Boba Fett, a TIE Pilot and a Stormtrooper in April 2020. These were followed by 2 more iconic headpieces in April 2021; a Scout Trooper and Darth Vader. Continuing the line on March 1st are 3 new offerings. From the incredible The Mandalorian TV show comes the title character’s helm and that of the Dark Trooper droid. Rounding out the selection is Luke Skywalker’s Red 5 pilot visor as seen in many a film. All three sets are currently up for pre-order on LEGO.COM. Let’s take a peek at what you get.

Red 5 Standing By…

The 2022 Star Wars helmets are not on my immediate buying list, but I do like their designs overall. The Mandalorian is similar to Boba Fett, but no way around that. The Dark Trooper helmet is appropriately sinister looking, but I think the sizing makes it look less imposing. It’s the smallest of the bunch which makes it less impressive. Now the real standout is Luke’s Red 5 helmet. The details are really nice on this, particularly the transparent orange visor and the chin strap. This is definitely the stand out of the group. One of The LEGO® Group’s promo photos shows a few helmets together and I have to say it’s a decent looking display. I’m sure the existing collectors will pick these up. The Mandalorian is no doubt big on many a fan’s list given it’s popularity.
