This morning, we shared the news concerning the return of the VIP collectible coins. Those hit the VIP rewards center on January 11, 2022 at 9:00 am. Hot on the heels of that reveal, we also learned of the January 2022 promotions at the LEGO® Store. Interestingly, this news is coming at you much later than in the past. Previously, we have published a rundown of the upcoming monthly store calendar a few days before the end of a month. However, the LEGO® Group has decided to cancel the store calendar moving forward. We have learned that the calendar became too great a challenge given ever changing COVID regulations and global shipping issues. Consequently, we will provide updates on promotions as they arise moving forward, starting today.
The first offering is an annual tradition. Each year, the LEGO® Group offers a new animal model to commemorate the Chinese New Year. Since this year will be the Year of the Tiger, purchases over $110 CAD both online and in store earn you the GWP. The offer is valid until January 27, 2022, or while quantities last. Bricks and Pieces orders do not qualify for the promotion. The second offering is a Monkie Kid Underwater Journey polybag. This kit comes with any Monkie Kid or Ninjago purchase over $50 CAD. Once again, the offer is valid online and in store until January 27, or while supplies last. Both offers are advertised as one per household.
Incidentally, planning your purchases right can get you both freebies at the collectible coins in one go. Of course, that requires getting into the VIP center early on January 11 to reserve your coins. I love tigers, and I do not think that Monkie Kid polybag looks half bad. In fact, Monkie Kid was one of my favorite Minifigures of 2020, so I am not opposed to getting another. Plus, this polybag comes with two skeletons.
