Monkie Kid launched to much hype in May 2020. Taking inspiration from Chinese folklore, the LEGO® Group released a new animated series in the Asian market. Sets based on the show appeared all over the world. The first wave launched in conjunction with the show. Subsequently, a second, third, and fourth wave followed suit. While not all of the sets have tickled my fancy, some of the offerings have been stunning (Legendary Flower Fruit Mountain, anyone?). However, one of my major complaints with the sets has been a lack of connection with the scenes and characters. Canadians have yet to see a single episode of Monkie Kid in the True North Strong and Free. All that is about to change. Monkie Kid finally lands in Canada this month.

Amazon Kids+ will air Monkie Kid seasons one and two, as well as two specials. This is the first exclusive partnership between Amazon and the LEGO® Group. Season one premieres on September 9, 2021 while season two follows on October 28. Sadly, Amazon Kids+ is a separate subscription from Amazon Prime. Additionally, it looks like Amazon Kids+ requires a Fire Tablet in Canada. Season one is supposed to stream on Prime at an unspecified date this fall. No word yet whether or not season two and the specials will hit Prime. Are you excited that Monkie Kid finally lands in Canada? Let us know in the comments below or reach out on social media.
Until next time,
-Tom

I would be interested in checking it out…. But an extra subscription just seems like a stretch.
I thought so too… Glad it will eventually show up on regular Prime. Just have to wait a bit longer I guess.
