LEGO® Celebrates Fan Diversity

LEGO® Celebrates Fan Diversity

June is traditionally Pride Month in many cities – particularly in North America and Europe. Celebrations continue all over the world through the summer months with parades, festivals and a variety of events. Many companies have taken this time of year to show their support of the LGBTQIA+ community with special edition products and themed releases. Does it always work? No. But often enough the sentiment goes a long way to send a positive message of inclusivity and acceptance. When a company you love embraces the community you love, some special things can happen. This year, LEGO® celebrates fan diversity.

The LEGO® Group has thrown their hat in the rainbow ring with a lovely new set available on June 1st called “EVERYONE IS AWESOME.” At 346 pieces, this 18+ set measures approximately 10 cm x 13cm and will make a lovely display piece for any desk, shelf or favourite spot. The biggest draw by far is the lovely collection of monochrome Minifigures – 11 to be exact – set against a waterfall build of colours representing the iconic pride flag, a long-standing symbol of love and acceptance. The Minifigures may be just one colour, but each will feature a great hair piece in some brand new colours that are sure to grab anyone’s attention – purple beehive anyone?

Set designer Matthew Ashton, Vice President, Design said: “I wanted to create a model that symbolises inclusivity and celebrates everyone, no matter how they identify or who they love. Everyone is unique, and with a little more love, acceptance and understanding in the world, we can all feel more free to be our true AWESOME selves! This model shows that we care, and that we truly believe ‘Everyone is awesome’!”

  1. I’m really looking forward to this one. The tough question for me is whether I’ll buy one or two. One, obviously, would be for permanent display, and the other would be for my parts collection. Thise hair pieces look really, really nice!

  2. Great Article Frank!! Looking forward to more of your reviews! 🌈🎉🌟
