An interesting tidbit for SEGA fans came from the LEGO® Group today. SEGA is partnering with LEGO® Ideas to bring a new fan creation to life. The upcoming set takes inspiration from the Sonic Mania Green Hill Zone level seen in the 2017 video game. The idea is the brainchild of Viv Grannell, an AFOL from the UK. As with all LEGO® Ideas sets, Sonic Mania achieved 10,000 supporters and is now entering the product development phase. Therefore, currently, there is no information on a release date, brick count, or product pricing.

This not the first time that Sonic the Hedgehog appears in LEGO® form. Previously, he appeared in a 2016 LEGO® Dimensions level pack. Incidentally, I grew up with Sonic on the SEGA Genesis. Therefore, I am intrigued to see where this Idea goes. What are your thoughts on the upcoming Sonic Mania Green Hill Zone set? Feel free to comment below or reach out on social media.
Until next time,
-Tom
