Minifigure Monday is a weekly celebration of LEGO® Minifigures. This week, we take a moment to remember the cost of freedom and democracy through poetry and photography. “Dear sir…” was written for my grandfather, whom I never met. He fought in the Second World War, and survived, but sadly passed before I was born. I dedicate this work to him, and to all those who have fought and sacrificed so that others might live free. Dear sir whom I have never met,
I am forever in your debt.
You fought against an ugly threat;
It was a choice you did not get.
Though you’re gone and past fret,
Please know that I will not forget.
