Out & About at the Botanical Gardens

As I mentioned in an earlier post, Minifigure Monday is going to experience a bit of a twist this summer. I am going to take various Minifigs on my outings this summer, and share the photos that I take here. My first outing was to see Wonder Woman (click here to read about it). My second was a trip to the Montreal Botanical Gardens. It has been a number of years since I last went there. This time I brought along two custom Minifigures that I made on a recent trip to the LEGO Store.

It is always a pleasure to visit the Japanese gardens and see the bonsai trees. I am also fond of the Chinese gardens, but they are closed for the summer for renovations. Another disappointment was that the waterfall was not running in the alpine gardens on the day we went. That garden is another of my favorites.

On this trip, my wife and I also ran into a little American toad. That was a first in terms of encounters at the Botanical Gardens for me. Given the urban location, I was surprised to find an amphibian in the gardens, but I suppose it is not that shocking. I love toads, along with tree frogs, they are my favorite amphibians.

As for the Minifigures that I chose for this trip, like I mentioned before, they are customs. I built them recently at the LEGO Store Minifigure station. I was going for a sort of trendy-punk-girl look for these ones. They will soon make their way to the shopping promenade that I am developing in my LEGO city (which currently only has one store).

Have you been to the Montreal Botanical Gardens? What would be your choice garden for some Minifigure photography?

Until next time,
