Brickomanie 2025 is one of the biggest LEGO® events in Québec, and it’s happening this August in Laval. It’s created by local fans (AFOLs like many of us) and brings together incredible builders from across the province and beyond. What caught my attention this year? They’re introducing an after-hours experience called “In the Dark,” where some of the builds will be lit up and displayed in a moody, nighttime setting. That feels… special. Maybe even magical.
This year also features a display of the 25 biggest LEGO sets ever produced—and I’m lending one of mine to the exhibition. Nineteen of those giants will be lit up for the “In the Dark” event, including mine… though I won’t say which one. You’ll have to come see if you can spot it.
A giant LEGO set of mine will be on display—but I won’t say which. You’ll have to spot it in the dark.
I’ll also have a table at the event with a few of my own MOCs on display. If you’re a longtime reader, stop by and say hi! You’ll be able to see some of the Viking themed stuff I’ve been talking about so much.
And for anyone visiting from out of town, the convention is conveniently located right next to Carrefour Laval, home to a LEGO® Store. That weekend, the store will be running a free make-and-take activity, and yes—they stamp LEGO® passports too. It’s shaping up to be a pretty full LEGO® weekend.
If you’re in the area, curious, or just looking for a good excuse to escape the August heat into a hotel convention centre filled with LEGO®, this might be worth checking out. Kids will love it, yes—but I get the sense this one’s also for us older fans who remember the wonder of building at night by lamplight.
