Strap in fellow Space Rangers! Disney & Pixar’s Lightyear is on the way with all new sets based on the upcoming animated film. Slated to release on June 17th, Lightyear will tell the thrilling adventure of Buzz Lightyear of Star Command. An origin story of sorts, we get to learn about the man behind the action figure. It looks like a big, bold and fun sci-fi flick taking him to (of course) infinity and beyond. The LEGO® Group is bringing us three sets, one in the 4+ line and two in the 7+ system line. The Buzz is Legit
I’m pretty stoked about this film. The trailers are phenomenal and Pixar has a darn great track record. The Toy Story films are some of my absolute favourites in their library, so I’m happy to revisit this world again. And this is a pretty strong wave. The mechs are nicely done with some fun playability and great shapes/colours. Same goes for a surprisingly great spaceship! For a smaller set, they’ve packed some really great design and detailing into this. And a display stand to boot – that’s an awesome add-on. The yellow canopy is so retro space too, loving it.
