Following a year of financial growth, awards, and international brand recognition, the LEGO® Group flies high into 2020.
On March 4, the LEGO® Group released their annual earnings and revenue statement for 2019. To summarize, sales grew by 5.6% over 2018. Additionally, revenue went up 6% and profits increased. The company also expanded in all its global markets. They opened 150 new stores around the world, bringing the total number of shops up to 570. There are plans to open 150 more throughout 2020 (primarily in China).

The LEGO® Group has the best reputation of any company worldwide!
There is no doubt that the LEGO® Group finds itself on sure financial footing. However, that is not the only area in which they have excelled. Recently, the Reputation Institute released its annual Global RepTrak report. This study aims to identify the companies with the best worldwide reputations. The Institute surveyed 80,540 people from the 15 countries with the largest economies. For the fourth year running, the LEGO® Group was number one. Along with Disney (#2), it is the only company to consistently make the top 10 since the study’s inception in 2011.

LEGO® cleans up at the Toy of the Year awards.
Of course, this is all on the heels of some major wins at the Toy of the Year awards. The Toy Association hosts these awards annually at the North American International Toy Fair in New York. This year, the gala event took place on February 21. The Toy Association awarded Construction Toy of the Year to the Deep Space Rocket and Launch Control (60228). Additionally, Stranger Things (75810) won Specialty Toy of the Year. Finally, in the new category of STEM/STEAM Toy of the Year, Star Wars Droid Commander (75253) took the inaugural honors.

To celebrate their successes, the LEGO® Group created a fun video. You can watch it below:
