Toy Fair 2020 Minions

NOTE: This article was updated after publication to add pricing information and release dates.

Earlier this week, we got a sneak peak at the new Star Wars sets coming out (click here to read more). Today, the LEGO® Group made New York Toy Fair 2020 Minions announcement. Prior to this year, the Minions licencing rights belonged to Mega Construx from Mattel. The LEGO® Group announced acquiring the rights in summer 2019. The first sets shown below are based on the film Minions: Rise of Gru, which comes out in July 2020. The sets themselves have a release date of April 27, 2020. Without further ado, let’s look at what is coming.

Concluding Thoughts

I admit, I am not very familiar with the Despicable Me franchise. As such, this theme did not speak to me when I first heard about it last summer. However, now that I have seen the first wave, there is one set that interests me in this Toy Fair 2020 Minions announcement. Lately I have been collecting Asian-style sets in order to build up the Ninjago district of my LEGO® city. Consequently, Minions Kung-Fu Battle (75550) struck my fancy. Do any of these sets speak to you? Be sure to let me know in the comments below, or shout out on social media.

Until next time,

-Tom
