Recently, the LEGO® Group released official pictures and set specifics for the upcoming summer 2020 Ninjago sets. While I already reported on the box art for these sets, these new images are much better quality. With the last round of photos, I also conducted some simple Instagram surveys to gauge interest. Summer 2020 Ninjago concluding thoughts…
The most interesting development since my last articles on these sets is the board game aspect of 71717, 71719, 71721, and 71722. Each doubles as a stand alone play set and board game. However, you can also join them together to make a single, large game. The game is described as:
Ninja fans use the dice spinner to plot their way through the dungeons, avoiding traps, lava, moving bridges and the Skull Sorcerer’s warriors as they seek to grasp the Shadow Blade of Deliverance and free a ninja from prison.

While I am intrigued by the board game, I am still only 100% interested in Destiny’s Bounty from this series. Based on the images, I think the Ninjago Movie version of the ship is nicer. However, this new one still looks great and appears to have a lot of features. Additionally, I can’t wait to see how the two models fare in a side-by-side comparison. Finally, I am happy to note that almost all of these sets are a great value. What are your thoughts? Has more detailed information changed your mind about the summer 2020 Ninjago wave? Comment below or reach out on social media.
Until next time,
-Tom

I love the spinjitzu burst ones. The crystal edges are so pretty! And I don’t get why people are saying that Lloyd has an old face? He has green eyes, but I’ve never seen that particular face print?
I had not heard people thought Lloyd looks old… are you referring to the Spinjitzu Burst Lloyd? He has green glowing skin… I am not sure why that would look old either.
The young Lloyd from Destiny’s Bounty. People are saying that his face print has been used a lot in the past.
To each her/his own, I suppose… It doesn’t bother me 🙂
Me neither. I was just pointing out that I’d never seen it before. It looks like the old Lloyd face, but with green eyes.
