“F” is for Fast & Furious

F

It is day six of the April A-to-Z Blogging Challenge. For the letter “F”, I have LEGO-fied the the Fast and the Furious. While there are eight films in the series, I decided to go back to the one that started it all, way back in 2001. I have enjoyed each of these movies for exactly what they are: mindless, entertaining, action movies. I was in college when the first one came out, and I thought Paul Walker was pretty cool. He was definitely one of my early fitness role models around the time I started to get more into the gym. I was saddened by his death in 2013, so I guess this also serves as a bit of a tribute to an icon from my youth.

For this poster, I continued to work on my Photoshop skills. Rather than use the actual logo pulled from somewhere on the web, I recreated the text and effects as best I could. Since I don’t collect LEGO racing cars, I actually designed my own car for this poster, rather than using a set (see photos above). However, I did take some inspiration from an official LEGO set that I found the instructions for online (set 60113). I also made the characters from random Minifigure parts in my collection since The Fast and the Furious is not actually a LEGO licensed theme (see photos below).

How do you feel about The Fast and the Furious franchise? I would love to hear your thoughts and comments in the space below. This post was made as part of my LEGO-fied theme for the A-to-Z Blogging Challenge. To learn more about the challenge, you can click here to visit the official site.

Until next time,

-Tom

  1. That car is absolutely terrific. It’s better than some of the kit cars, actually. Good job on figuring it all out.

I saw one of the Fast & Furious movies and enjoyed it, but haven’t gotten around to any others—I don’t have much time for movies, so it’s no reflection on the F&F franchise, just my own terrible habits of not making time to sit still often enough.

  2. Tom,

Another movie I haven’t seen. Our youngest daughter and her husband are fans of this movie series. Wait….I take that back we may have seen the first one but I can’t swear to it. Regardless if I have or haven’t I do recognize your recreated Lego movie poster which is a nice matchup. You did a fantastic job! Thanks for the revisit yesterday. Have a good day and weekend!
