“B” is for Beautiful Trauma
Today marks the second day of the April A-to-Z Blogging Challenge, and in my LEGO-fied series, I have recreated P!nk’s Beautiful Trauma album cover. I have been a fan of P!nk since the days of Can’t Take Me Home. That album came out in my first year of college. One of my earliest memories of listening to P!nk comes from Can’t Take Me Home back in 2000. I was house sitting. My friends and I would drive to the apartment I was staying in during our breaks between classes. Most Girls and There You Go were on my latest mix CD. The apartment was actually down the street from where I currently work. I often think of that time as I drive to work nowadays, listening to Beautiful Trauma. It seems like just yesterday that I was house sitting there, yet oddly, it also seems like an eternity. I can’t believe it has been 18 years. I never imagined back then that I would be working as a teacher in the school next door, almost two decades later. Teaching wasn’t even on my radar as a career option back then. Since then, P!nk has earned a place on my favorite artists playlist, and the LEGO-fied treatment.
This image was made using the hairpiece that came with the Jillian Holtzmann Minifigure in the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 & 2 LEGO set (click here to read my review). The face is from a female police officer that is fairly common in the City theme. LEGO P!nk’s body is from the Ballerina that came in Minifigures Series 15. Otherwise, she is sporting two pieces of tissue paper to simulate the coat worn on the actual album cover. The building that I used in the background is the Old Fishing Store LEGO set (click here to read my review of that set).
As always, I would love to hear your thoughts on my LEGO-fied project in the comments below. Also, do you have any memories to share that go along with P!nk’s music? This post is part of the April A-to-Z Blogging Challenge, you can click here to visit the official website for more information.
Until next time!
